Let Us Seek God’s Best

The great inventor of the electric light bulb, Thomas Edison, who spent many hours trying to find the right filament once said, "I have not failed. I have just found 10,000 things that do not work." Scientists, looking for causes and effects, try to prove certain possibilities.  Can you imagine coming to the end of your life of seeking your purposes and attempting to do what is good and right in your life and find that you spent all of your time looking in the wrong places and seeking worthless things?

God does not want any of us to waste time trying to find the most important goals, purposes, and plans in our lives.  He says that He knows His thoughts for us and that is to bring us to a great future in Him (Jeremiah 29:11).  In other words, He knows what is good for us and wants us to reach that perfect place in Him where all of our God-given dreams are reached and all of our purposes are accomplished.

We are rapidly approaching 2016 and many of us have begun evaluating our progress in 2015.  It is crucially important that we continue to seek the Kingdom of God and His way of doing and being right and everything that He has planned for us will be given to us (Matthew 6:33).

For the rest of our lives, let us seek God’s priorities and plans for us.  As we pray to Him and read His word, we will discover His plan for us. If we do, we will not fail in life and we will discover His glorious and perfect will for our lives.

Jeremiah 29:11
Amplified Bible (AMP)
11 For I know the plans and thoughts that I have for you,’ says the Lord, ‘plans for peace and well-being and not for disaster to give you a future and a hope.

Matthew 6:33
Amplified Bible (AMP)
33 But first and most importantly seek (aim at, strive after) His kingdom and His righteousness [His way of doing and being right—the attitude and character of God], and all these things will be given to you also.
