God Wants to Give Us His Wisdom

Artificial intelligence (AI) seems to be showing up everywhere. It is changing how we work, learn, communicate, and conduct business. While these advances can be exciting, they also raise serious questions about what might happen if AI becomes more powerful than we can manage. Even some of the people developing this technology have expressed concerns about its potential dangers.

Back in 1984, the movie The Terminator introduced audiences to a frightening vision of technology turning against humanity. One character described the relentless machine this way: “It can't be bargained with. It can't be reasoned with. It doesn't feel pity, or remorse, or fear!” Although this was a line from a science-fiction movie, it raises a question worth considering today: What happens when people create something powerful but cannot fully control it?

It is understandable that people may feel uneasy about the future. We already have enough to worry about with our families, finances, health, and the problems facing our communities. But those who love the Lord do not have to allow fear to control their lives. Human beings may be intelligent and powerful, but God’s wisdom and power are much greater than anything humanity can create.

Jesus reminded His disciples in John 14:2 that there is a place prepared for them in His Father’s house. This promise reminds us that our future rests in God’s hands. We may not know what tomorrow will bring, but we can trust the One who holds tomorrow. The enemy wants to fill our hearts and minds with fear, worry, anxiety, and hopelessness. He wants us to focus so much on what might go wrong that we forget what God has already promised us. We must be careful about the words we speak, too. Instead of constantly declaring defeat, let us speak words of faith and hope.

We are overcomers through Christ. Philippians 4:13 reminds us, “I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.” Revelation 12:11 speaks of overcoming through the blood of the Lamb and the word of our testimony. And Romans 8:31 asks, “If God be for us, who can be against us?” These Scriptures do not mean that we should ignore real problems or pretend that nothing bad can happen. They remind us that our problems do not have to rob us of our faith. We can face uncertainty with courage because our confidence is in God, not in our own understanding.

Throughout the Bible, we see examples of God exercising His authority over human plans and circumstances. When the people building the Tower of Babel sought to accomplish their purposes in opposition to God, He intervened and confused their language. When wickedness filled the earth, God preserved Noah and his family. And when the Israelites stood before the Red Sea with Pharaoh’s army pursuing them, God made a way where there seemed to be no way.

These accounts remind us that no person, army, government, or human invention is greater than God. He sees what we cannot see, knows what we do not know, and possesses wisdom far beyond our own. Artificial intelligence demonstrates what human beings can accomplish through knowledge and innovation. But human intelligence has limits, and technology cannot replace the wisdom that comes from God. James 1:5 tells us that if we lack wisdom, we can ask God, who gives generously. Rather than allowing fear of the future to consume us, we should seek His guidance for the decisions we make today.

Let us use the tools available to us responsibly, remain alert to potential dangers, and exercise good judgment. At the same time, let us refuse to give fear the final word. Our hope is not in artificial intelligence, human ingenuity, or the promises of worldly systems. Our hope is in the living God.

God is still in charge, and He wants to give us His wisdom! Let us lift our eyes above the fears and uncertainties of this world, ask God to guide our thinking, and trust Him to direct our steps. We may not understand everything that is happening around us, but we can rest in the knowledge that God understands it all. Let us seek His wisdom, stand firmly in our faith, and move forward with confidence. After all, human intelligence may continue to advance, but there is no wisdom greater than the wisdom of God.
