Let Us Talk About Our Savior, Jesus Christ
It seems like trouble is all around us. Every day, we hear about people struggling to make ends meet, families facing difficult situations, violence in our communities, and uncertainty about what tomorrow may bring. The Bible reminds us that we are only here for a little while, and our lives can be filled with trouble (Job 14:1). But thank God, trouble does not last forever! Psalm 30:5 reminds us that “weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning.”
We face challenges in nearly every area of life. Some are struggling financially. Others are dealing with family problems, physical illness, emotional pain, or spiritual questions. We hear experts offering advice and promising solutions, and some of that advice can be helpful. But advice alone cannot answer every question or heal every hurt. We need the wisdom and truth of God.
The Bible warns us that a time will come when people will no longer want to hear sound teaching. Instead, they will seek out voices that tell them what they want to hear (2 Timothy 4:3). When we turn away from God’s truth, it becomes easier to believe ideas that may feel good in the moment but lead us away from Him.
That is why we must be careful about what we allow to shape our thinking and guide our lives. Jesus said that the enemy comes to steal, kill, and destroy, but He came so that we might have life more abundantly (John 10:10). The enemy wants us to lose hope, turn against one another, and forget the love and truth of God. But we do not have to follow that path. Through Christ, we can choose a different way.
So what should we do when people cannot afford the basic necessities of life? What should we do when violence and suffering leave families grieving? What should we do when people are exploited through human trafficking or when those who need help seem to be overlooked? We should not become so overwhelmed by the troubles of the world that we stop caring. Instead, we can pray, show compassion, speak up for those who are hurting, and do what we can to help.
Most importantly, we must keep pointing people to Jesus Christ. The world has plenty of voices competing for our attention, but Jesus is the Savior who offers forgiveness, hope, peace, and eternal life. We have seen what the world has to offer; now let us turn our attention to the Word made flesh—Jesus Christ (John 1:14).
This is not the time to let fear, anger, or the distractions of life pull us away from God. It is time to turn from sin and anything that takes His place in our hearts. It is time to seek the Lord, renew our minds with His Word, and put our faith into action.
And it is time to tell somebody about the goodness of Jesus! We do not have to be famous preachers or have all the answers. We can begin by telling a friend, encouraging a neighbor, praying with someone who is hurting, or sharing how Christ has helped us through difficult times. Our words and actions can remind people that they are not forgotten and that God loves them.
Jesus gave His life for us, and He offers that same love and salvation to everyone. Let us share the good news with kindness, courage, and compassion. Let us live in a way that reflects Christ and helps others see His goodness. And as we look forward to His return, let us make the most of every opportunity to tell the world about our Savior.
Let us talk about Jesus Christ—the One who loves us, saves us, gives us hope, and will never fail us.
